Joint UNFF positions
The International Family Forestry Alliance, IFFA, have formed three joint positions together with the Global Alliance of Community Forestry, GACF, addressing the United Nations Forum on Forest, UNFF, meeting in New York from 16 27 April 2007. The positions focus on the Millennium Development Goals, Non-Legally Binding Instrument and Multi Year Program of Work.

IFFA positions at FAO meeting
Forests and land tenure, forest and energy and putting forestry to work at the local level is the major themes in the IFFA position paper addressing the 18th Session of the FAO Committee on Forestry (COFO) in Rome 13 16 March 2007. In addition the Position paper strongly support the shaping of an Action Programme for FAO in forestry

IFFA position on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP 12)
The International Family Forestry Alliance, representing more than 25 million forest owners all over the world, will strongly advice governmental and intergovernmental policy makers to utilise the possibilities sustainable forestry and sustainable forest products can offer in the combat against climate change.

IFFA a perfect World Bank partner
The International Family Forestry Alliance, IFFA, proposes forming a partnership with the World Bank to promote sustainable forest management. The partnership might initiate a dialogue at strategic level and further develop and implement sustainable forest management in accordance with the World Bank Forest strategy. This proposal was discussed at the Annual meeting of IFFA in New York 25 May 2005

IFFA supports UNFF
Family forestry supports international and regional forest policy processes. The United Nations Forum on Forest needs to raise its profile as global policy forum where high-level commitments are achieved. IFFA support regional processes as the backbones of international forest arrangements. Strong regional processes bring expertise to the global discussion and decision-making.

Viable economy ensure sustainability
International and national policies must respect land tenure rights and favour viable economic conditions that enables family forestry as a market driven activity. The policy framework must encourage long-term perspective and sustainable management of family forests. Viable economy will ensure sustainability.
