Ivar Legallais-Korsbakken, Norway, was re-elected as chair of IFFA, the International Family Forestry Alliance. New on the Board is Natalie Hufnagl-Jovy, Germany.

The IFFA Annual Meeting 2008 decided to fix the membership fee to € 350 for members and € 175 for associate members.

Joint UNFF positions
The International Family Forestry Alliance, IFFA, have formed three joint positions together with the Global Alliance of Community Forestry, GACF, addressing the United Nations Forum on Forest, UNFF, meeting in New York from 16 – 27 April 2007. The positions focus on the Millennium Development Goals, Non-Legally Binding Instrument and Multi Year Program of Work.

Forests and land tenure, forest and energy and putting forestry to work at the local level is the major themes in the IFFA position paper addressing the 18th Session of the FAO Committee on Forestry (COFO) in Rome 13 – 16 March 2007.
