After three years promoting the position of European forest owners and the forest sector in Brussels, Emma Berglund will continue to advance her career back home in Sweden.

Fanny-Pomme Langue, the new secretary general, has a background in EU policies and agricultural law. She has been working since 2013 as Policy Director of the European association representing the EU bioenergy sector (AEBIOM). Prior to that, she worked in the European Commission (DG Energy) and the French forest cooperatives organisation (UCFF).

On the occasion of the December Board meeting of CEPF, the CEPF President Hubert de Schorlemer and the Board thanked Emma Berglund for her hard work and dedication to CEPF. “Emma has been a great leader and force for CEPF. She built a strong team and helped develop the organisation further, strengthening the impact and recognition of CEPF as the European voice of family forestry. We wish Emma all success for her next steps and look forward to continuing working with her in other forms in the future”, said de Schorlemer.

“It has been a great honour to lead the CEPF Secretariat and my decision to leave was not easy”, says Berglund. “Family forestry needs a common voice, maybe now more than ever, to explain how our multifunctional and sustainably managed European forests contribute to meeting the big challenges facing society. Working for CEPF to strengthen that voice has been a privilege.”

The CEPF Board has appointed Fanny-Pomme Langue as the new CEPF Secretary General. “We are very happy to welcome Fanny-Pomme Langue to the CEPF family. She is exceptionally well placed to continue building on CEPF’s success and impact, and develop the organisation to become even stronger in the future. The CEPF Board, the team and all the CEPF members look forward to working with her”, says de Schorlemer.

“It is a great honour and pleasure to join CEPF and come back to work in the forestry sector”, says Fanny-Pomme Langue. “Forests are key for our society and their contribution needs to be fully recognized in all upcoming relevant EU policies. In this context, I look forward to working on building constructive positions and raising the voice of forest owners in close collaboration with their partners.”
